The convocation, a well-recognized tradition in universities all over the world, is a grand festival observed by the academic world where degree candidates are presented by the university faculty and administration to the degree awarding body of the university. The Chancellor of the university who heads this body confers the degree as recommended.

The Chancellor, the Vice Chancellor, the Pro-Vice Chancellor, Members of the Board of Governors, and Deans, together with the Heads of Academic Departments, constitute the degree awarding authority of Daffodil International University.

The Academic Procession is a part of convocations all around the world. It is a colorful but solemn event where graduating students, faculty, members of the Academic Council, members of the Board of Governors, and senior administrative staff of the university participate.

The participants in their ceremonial dresses join the convocation procession and enter the convocation hall. The Registrar, who is also the Convocation Marshal, leads the procession into the hall. The Degree Candidates take their seats in an area of the hall reserved for them.

Faculty members join the procession in ascending order of seniority; they enter the hall and take their seats alongside the degree candidates.

The Chancellor enters last in the company of the Vice Chancellor, the Education Minister, the Chairman, Board of Governors, the Pro-Vice Chancellor, the Deans, the Convocation Speaker, and the members of the Board of Governors, the Academic Council, and the Finance Committee.
Once the procession has reached the designated area and all are in place, the formal Convocation Ceremony begins. The Chairman, the Board of governors delivers his address. Then one of the Members of the Board of Governors, the Minister of Education, and the Convocation Speaker deliver their addresses. Then a student selected from the graduating class as the valedictorian addresses the gathering. Then the Vice Chancellor gives his address. Then the graduating candidates are presented to the Chancellor for the award of degree conferment by the respective Deans of Faculty. The Convocation Marshal conducts the session.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Chancellor, the Vice Chancellor, the Education Minister, the Chairman of the Board of Governors, and the Pro-Vice Chancellor of Daffodil International University and other dignitaries leave the site of the ceremony in procession, followed by faculty members and the Graduating Students. The ceremony concludes when the procession departs from the hall.

The academic apparel of Daffodil International University has been specially designed, though it corresponds closely to the academic regalia used in other universities. The gowns worn by participants are generally black, but the designs differ. The colors of the tassels and the hoods distinguish faculty members of one department from those of other departments.

The Hood, which resembles the medieval cowl, is the most distinctive feature of the academic insignia. Its satin panel is visible from the front and indicates the general field of a degree by its color.

The Convocation apparel for all bachelor's degree candidates is black, and they will don black square mortarboards on their heads. The colors of the tassels on their mortarboards point to their fields of study.
The Academic costume of the 1st Convocation of Daffodil University will be as follows: 

1. Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA): Of black silk or stuff edged on the inside with a border of blue silk.
2. Master of Business Administration (MBA) : Of black silk or stuff with a lining of blue silk.
3. Master of Arts in English (MA in English): Of black silk or stuff with a lining of crimson silk.
4. Bachelor of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE), Bachelor of Computing & Information System (CIS):  Of black silk or stuff edged on the inside with a border of mauve silk.

5. Bachelor of Computer Science (CS): Of black silk or stuff edged on the inside with a border of French grey silk.
6. Master of Science in Management Information System (MS in MIS): Of black silk or stuff with a lining of mauve silk.

Master degree candidates wear hoods of their departmental color in addition to gowns and mortarboards.

Daffodil International University faculty members wear black gowns with black velvet on their lapels with piping of departmental color and three black velvet bands with departmental color piping on each sleeve. The disciplines of the faculty members are distinguished by the color of the tassels and hoods. 
The Chancellor, Education Minister, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Convocation Speaker, Members of the Board of Governors of Daffodil International University, Deans, University Marshal and Members of the Academic Council wear especially designed regalia.

The logo of Daffodil International University reflects the chief objective of the university which is the dissemination of modern and quality education at a reasonable cost. The color of the Daffodil International University logo is Blue and Green. The logo is divided into two parts. The upper part includes a globe and world map and an open book while the lower part has the image and color of the national flag.

The color of the Daffodil International University flag is white and light blue, and the color of the Daffodil International University emblem is blue and green. The emblem is placed downstairs of the flag.

Undergraduate students graduating with a CGPA of 3.90 or above will receive a Summa Cum Laude and a CGPA of 3.75 to less than 3.90 will receive Magna Cum Laude.

Each graduate student graduating with a CGPA of 3.97 or above within four years' time will be awarded a Gold Medal.
