It gives me immense pleasure to know that Daffodil International University is going to hold its 6th Convocation on 22nd February 2017. On the eve of this auspicious occasion, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the graduating students, faculty members, guardians, and university authority as a whole.

Education is a powerful tool that enriches young minds with the essential abilities to compete and succeed in a challenging world. I desire that graduating students will be fully equipped to free society from the shackles of disorder and maintain peace and harmony in society. I strongly believe that the concerted efforts of the university authority will motivate the students to prove their worthiness all over the world. At the same time, the graduating students will also assist the university to fulfill its mission of establishing this promising university as a center of excellence in the territory of higher education.

I hope that the graduating students who are passing out today would be able to face the challenges confidently and contribute significantly to the development of the society and nation.

I am happy to know that Daffodil International University is going to hold its 6th Convocation on 22nd February 2017. On this occasion, l would like to extend my heartiest felicitations to the graduating students, parents, faculty members, and authorities of the university.

The Awami League government has attached the top priority to higher education to build a knowledge-based country. In this regard, we adopted a modern, scientific, and time-befitting Education Policy to ensure quality education. We enacted Private University Act-2010 to boost higher education facilities. Since 2009, the government established 8 public universities and gave permission to set up and operate 42 private universities. Private universities have become an integral part of the government's efforts in improving the socio-economic condition of the country.

I hope that private universities will provide financial support in form of scholarships and tuition waivers to poor students.

I believe, the graduates of Daffodil International University will utilize their acquired knowledge, talent, and patriotism to build a prosperous 'Sonar Bangla' as dreamt of by the greatest Bangalee of all time, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

I am delighted to know that the 6th Convocation Ceremony of Daffodil International University is going to be held on 22 February 2017.

A convocation of a university is indeed an occasion to reminisce as it marks the end of a phase of formal education for graduates. Its significance also lies in appreciating the industry and perseverance with which the students have earned their degrees. On this august occasion, I would like to extend my felicitations to the graduates, their parents, teachers, and the university authority.

The present government attaches an extremely high priority to quality education as it may make fundamental improvements to the country in particular and to humanity in general. I appreciate the effort of Daffodil International University to provide ICT-based quality education to its students, thereby turning them into an effective workforce that can face the challenges posed by the 21st Century.

It gives me immense pride that the 6th Convocation of Daffodil International University (DIU) is going to be held on 22nd February 2017. We have been able to attain yet another milestone on our road to success paved by contribution, cooperation, faith, and well-wishes from all our students, parents, guardians, and other stakeholders.

Since the beginning of 2002, we aptly engraved our vision of becoming a premier university excelling in education, research, and community service by providing quality education to thousands of young people and establishing them as successful and competent professionals. In order to obtain venture capital and promote entrepreneurship among students, we have established a business incubator and linked our students with such activities as business startup, social business club, startup market, and jobsbd.com for life-oriented and practical learning. We have included unique projects like Apprenticeship, Art of Living, and Change Together for the overall development of our beloved students.

We wish each of our alumni to be positioned at the peak of their career in their specialized fields. We always love to see our alumni start their careers as entrepreneurs; we are really proud of all of our alumni who already have proved themselves as successful entrepreneurs and created job opportunities for many others. 500+ international students from different countries are pursuing their education at DIU. We are collaborating with about 300 renowned universities around the world. This has been possible because of the dedication and determination for excellence by our experienced, meritorious, and reputed academicians and dedicated officials of the administration.

Today is a day of joy that recognizes the efforts of a student to become a graduate. As we move into the 6th Convocation of Daffodil International University, 3398 graduates will be presented for a degree of which 2718 will be awarded Bachelor's degrees and 680 Master's degrees.

I am happy to be a part of the ceremony that recognizes the efforts of the students. While congratulating the graduates, I would also like to congratulate the teachers and administration of Daffodil International University for supporting each graduate on the way to achieving their degree.

I would also like to thank our distinguished international and local guests for gracing the ceremonies and encouraging our students. In particular, I would like to thank His Excellency Dr. G. Viswanathan (GV), Honorable Founder-Chancellor, Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) University, Mr. G. V. Selvam, Honorable Vice President, VIT University, and distinguished guests, who have come all the way from India. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Honorable Education Minister Mr. Nurul Islam Nahid for gracing the occasion as the Chairman on behalf of the Chancellor.

I would like to join the graduates in thanking the Creator for the success He has granted and for giving us the opportunity to celebrate this day with all the fanfare and pageantry.

To meet the challenge of the modern world in the field of Science & Technology & Higher Education as a whole, Daffodil International University has come up with promising commitment for the fulfillment of its desire for ensuring quality education through excellent faculties with modern tools. The university makes all out efforts to explore and utilize the best service derived out of all the technological, ideological and academic aspects of the society.

We are now able to offer different academic programs for the students of both undergraduate and postgraduate levels under five faculties: Faculty of Business & Economics, Faculty of Science & Information Technology, Faculty of Humanities & Social Science, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, and Faculty of Engineering. In this connection, Daffodil International University already introduced a course on Art of living & Ethics.

As the Pro-Vice Chancellor of this renowned university, I have no doubt in mind that we are moving towards our goal for building up an excellent "A" grade educational institution in the country. For this, we are working in a team which is known as " Change Together" for the fulfillment of quality education.

Both academic & administrative personnel are committed to rendering the best services for the production of the best product. We are very much optimistic about tomorrow.

Convocation is an academic milestone that does not only belong to any particular individual or group nor is it meant for the graduates, the Chancellor and the Vice Chancellor, the Deans and the teachers alone but also to the nation at large , conceived and permeated as it is, with a high sense of national purpose and prestige. One achieves it through hard work, dedication, and by investing much of time, talent and money. The university from the very outset of its beginning on 24th January 2002, has established itself as one of the pioneers in higher education and research with excellence. A journey of 15 years included works for the advancement of knowledge, cultural development, and fulfillment and for solving the problems that society is facing today.

The purpose of higher education is to produce skilled manpower with quality education to face the challenge of the time. I believe Daffodil International University will make a major contribution in producing graduates with the knowledge, useful skills and religion-based humanitarian outlook on life.

On this special occasion, I want to remind our graduates that the special landmark will enable them to shift their learning and knowledge to the society and the nation at large by continuing to search for truth, knowledge, and values that will bring richness to their lives and careers. I believe that they are competent enough to serve nation by upholding the prestige they received and with the knowledge and good sense which have been during their stay at this university.

It is indeed a memorable day for the graduating students who will be awarded degrees on this occasion. I would like to extend my heartfelt felicitations to the graduates, parents, teachers, and the university authority on this auspicious occasion.

The university has had considerable achievements since its establishment in 2002, and it has emerged as a prominent ICT-oriented university of the country with an excellent global focus. The university strives for quality of education and research and regularly conducts training programs for newly recruited faculty members and officers. The university also emphasizes on quality of human life through a 3-credit compulsory course entitled "Art of Living and Universal Human Values".

I am confident that hard-earned knowledge acquired by our graduates will enable them to enjoy a fruitful career with morality, professional ethics, and universal human values leading to happiness, peace, and prosperity in society.
