7th Convocation

Md. Abdul HamidI am delighted to know that Daffodil International University (DIU) is going to hold its 7th Convocation on January 10, 2018. On this occasion, I extend my heartfelt felicitation to all the graduating students, guardians, faculty members, and university authorities as well.

In the age of 21st Century quality education is a must to cope with the global trend and development. Keeping that in mind the present government has taken manifold measures in the field of education. I believe our educational institutions will comply with the latest Educational Act and Policy to produce a pool of capable and competent graduates, who would be able to shoulder the responsibility of the country.

A convocation is a special event for the graduates and a milestone for a university as it acknowledges the achievements of the graduates as well as provides ample opportunities to evaluate the overall activities of the university. The graduates leave behind their alma mater to enter a new world to face new challenges. I hope they will overcome those challenges with a sense of honesty and patriotism and will contribute significantly to building a happy and prosperous Bangladesh.

I am happy to learn that the Daffodil International University (DIU) is going to hold its 7th Convocation on 10 January 2018. On this occasion, I extend my heartiest congratulations to the graduating students, their parents, and the management of the university.

We need qualified and morally upright manpower to turn Bangladesh into a middle-income country by 2021 and a developed one by 2041. In this regard, the Awami League government has attached top priority to higher education to build a knowledge-based country. We adopted a modern, scientific, and time-befitting Education Policy to ensure quality education. We enacted Private University Act-2010 to boost higher education facilities. Since 2009, the government established 12 public universities and given permission to set up and operate 44 private universities. Private universities have become an integral part of the government's efforts in improving the socio-economic condition of the country.

I believe, the graduates of Daffodil International University will utilize their acquired knowledge, talent, and patriotism to build prosperous Sonar Bangladesh as dreamt by the greatest Bangalee of all time, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

I am very pleased to know that the 7th Convocation of Daffodil International University (DIU) is going to be held on the 10th of January 2018.

The present government appreciates the emergence of a pragmatic necessity in providing useful and important higher education through private universities. The government believes in the quality of education, an education that caters for the new demands of the job market in the new millennium. I am sure Daffodil International University (DIU) has been adhering to the principles of quality education, equal opportunities for all, modernization, and internationalization of its provisions and opportunities. And the faculty and students alike have been benefiting from the policies and provisions of empowerment of the different clientele groups of the university. The 7th Convocation is yet another landmark in the short journey of the university.

Convocation, as you know, is the celebration of expected achievements through hard work. It is the gateway to a new world of challenges and opportunities for new graduates. It also bears testimony to the accomplishment of the students, their parents, the faculty, and the management of the university as a whole. I would like to avail this opportunity to congratulate the graduating students, their parents and guardians, the faculty, and the authority of the university.

It is of great importance for me to know that the Daffodil International University (DIU) is holding its 7th Convocation ceremony on the 10th of January 2018. On this auspicious occasion, I'd like to express my sincere congratulations to all the graduating students, their parents and guardians, the teachers and staff, and the authority of the university.

As is universally acknowledged, education promotes quality of life. It opens new doors of progress and prosperity for the new graduates in a new world. I look to the graduates today for the continuity of their hard work and diligence in pursuit of even more new knowledge and skills to make use of in their new role as responsible citizens and leaders in their own sphere of duties to take our nation forward to a new height of glory and greatness.

I would like to mention that Daffodil International University has been very proactive in promoting the principles of ''Digital Bangladesh'' and the internationalization of its programs and providers. It is indeed a pleasure for me to be able to mention that this university has been exploring all necessary opportunities for its students, members of faculty, and staff to achieve their best and be prepared to contribute to the nation-building tasks ahead. I congratulate the management of this university for its innovative programs and unique projects.

I feel privileged to have been invited to play the part of the Convocation Speaker in the unique academic event of the 7th Convocation of the Daffodil International University (DIU). On this special day, the graduating students celebrate the culmination of four years of their strenuous pursuits of study. I hope that they will remember the occasion fondly for the rest of their life.

It is also an important day for the parents, guardians, families, friends, teachers, and staff that supported and cared for the graduates. The achievement of a degree is one that is seldom managed without these supports around. Today is a celebration, which all those caring people are very much a part too.

The passing graduates are proud to be joining a community of alumni that is still young and very vibrant. I am sure that they will take confidence from the promising history of DIU which shows that Daffodillians have already gone on to great successes in different areas of life. And I have no doubt that they will remember their time here as some of the happiest years of their lives.

On behalf of the International Association of University Presidents (IAUP) and on my personal behalf, I wish the new graduates a bright future and a life that they aspire to live.

In fine, I'd love to congratulate the graduates, their parents, and guardians, and the teachers and staff that remained on guard to guide the graduates to reach this precious moment with glory and greatness.

May the 7th Convocation of Daffodil International University (DIU) remain a landmark in the history of DIU forever.

DIU is determined to create an educated, digitized and self-sufficient generation who will be doers and change makers with their entrepreneurial and intrapreneurial (entrepreneurial skills within an organization) leadership. I congratulate the graduates and like to see this as an occasion to mark the beginning of their career in the industry, business, and job sector.

DIU has been striving to ensure employability skills, updated academic knowledge, career-oriented subjects, international collaboration, modern curriculum, industrial academia linkage, soft skills, and career development of the students to make them fit for globalization.

We tried our level best to guide students to love and respect their parents; to be innovative, creative, and focused. We also nurtured the students to utilize their time because the clock always reminds them that time is being deducted from life! The graduates are to keep in mind that, life is according to their will, which they should respect, cultivate and enjoy. Graduates are to contribute to society and be proud Daffodilians. It is their obligation to themselves, to their parents, and to DIU to utilize their skills and they need to present themselves properly. Graduates must be prepared in such a way that jobs will come to them, or graduates themselves will create demand for the job market so that employers can evaluate them and award them with a lucrative jobs.

Our graduates are our ambassadors. They are products of Daffodil, so the university will be ready to support them in enhancing their skills. I would like our beloved graduates to do 3 things, they will: take each day as it comes and put in their best efforts; stay connected with their teachers, seniors, and classmates; always remain grateful for the opportunities they had in their life, and help others get better opportunities.

Today, at the Permanent Campus, we honor the graduating students of Daffodil International University, at its 7th Convocation. It is a day of joy that recognizes the efforts of students to learn and become graduates in their preferred subjects. We are proud to announce that 3132 graduates will be presented for a degree of which 2497 will be awarded a Bachelor's degree and 635 a Master's degree.

I am happy to be part of the ceremony that recognizes the efforts of the students. While congratulating the graduates, I would also like to congratulate the teachers, administration, and Board of Trustees of Daffodil International University for supporting each graduate on the way to achieving their degree.

I would also like to thank our distinguished international and local guests for gracing the ceremonies and encouraging our students. In particular, I would like to thank Dr. Kakha Shengelia, President, International Association of University Presidents & President of Caucasus University, and the distinguished guests who have come all the way from Georgia. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Honorable Education Minister Mr. Nurul Islam Nahid for gracing the occasion as the Chairman on behalf of the Chancellor. I would like to join the graduates in thanking the Creator for the opportunities and successes that He has granted and for giving us the opportunity to celebrate this day with all the fanfare and pageantry.

It is a great pleasure and satisfaction for me that Daffodil International University is going to hold its 7th convocation on 10th January 2018 at our Main Campus, Ashulia. On the eve of this special occasion, I congratulate the successful graduates as well as their guardians and faculty members. Today it is an immersive pleasure on the part of the students that they have completed their academic requirements for getting their degrees successfully. Really, the convocation is a joyful and most significant day for new graduates. Graduates will enter into practical life after degrees have been conferred upon them.

The graduates from this University have an excellent employment background. This great achievement was possible due to the active participation of the students, adequate guidance from the teachers and the congenial academic atmosphere, and efficient leadership of the University management. DIU offers high-quality education to students at an affordable cost.

The University makes all-out efforts to explore and utilize the best services derived out of all technological, ideological, and academic aspects of the society by which the graduates have to face challenges in the highly competitive world.

I strongly believe that successful graduates from DIU will certainly be able to become entrepreneurs or good managers in different organizations and thus can contribute to the socio-economic development of the country. I would like to extend my best wishes and heartfelt congratulations to the graduating students, their families, friends, and well-wishers. My special thanks to faculty members and University authorities.

I am delighted to know that the seventh convocation of Daffodil International University (DIU) will be held on 10 January 2018 at its wide-open and lush green Campus at Ashulia in Dhaka. It is indeed a memorable day for the graduating students who will be awarded degrees on this occasion. I would like to extend my heartfelt felicitations to the graduates, their parents and teachers, and the university authority on this auspicious occasion.

DIU has considerable achievements since its establishment in 2002 and it has emerged as a prominent ICT-oriented university with an excellent global focus. DIU organizes numerous national and international conferences, international exchange programs for students and teachers, and many other national and international events. DIU having memoranda of understanding with over 300 universities and international organizations is a global leader in higher education.

The university strives for quality of education and research and regularly conducts training programs for newly recruited faculty members and officers. DIU emphasizes quality of life and moral values through a 3-credit compulsory course (called Art of Living) on lifestyle and human values.

I am confident that the hard-earned knowledge and lifestyle acquired by our graduates will enable them to enjoy a fruitful career with morality, professional ethics, and universal human values leading to happiness, peace and prosperity in society.
