2nd Convocation

I am happy to learn that Daffodil International University is going to hold its second convocation on May 26, 2008. On this auspicious occasion, I congratulate the graduating students on their success and extend my felicitations to the university authority as well.

Quality education is of the essence to face the growing challenges of the 21st century. In this backdrop, the role of universities is of paramount importance in imparting quality education. I hope the graduates of this university would be able to meet the present global challenges confidently.

I am happy to learn that Daffodil International University (DIU) is going to hold its 2nd Convocation on 26 May, 2008 in Dhaka. On this happy occasion, I extend my felicitations to the graduating students, their parents and the faculty of the university.

I believe that graduates of DIU will contribute significantly to the socio-economic and technological development of the country.

The Graduates of 21st century are to be problem solvers and great innovators. They will have to find better solutions, by fusion of theories commensurate with their applications and by overcoming some drawbacks with invention. We are poised into a complicated world both in business and IT perspective. We are mending our damages still. Our graduates are to be fueled up to level and again to be frontiers. A lot of endeavors and works are ahead for them to shoulder. We, first, have to ensure their quality and strength for participation and for survival as well. Universities of our country are performing their parts significantly. Daffodil International University is found one of the frontiers in this procession. Its graduates, specially, of business and IT are showing their competency and dedication in their professions. I hope their bright futures in all respects.

I congratulate Daffodil International University on their 2nd Convocation for taking significant part in providing future leaders for making Bangladesh a better place in the future.

I am delighted that Daffodil International University (DIU) is holding its 2nd Convocation on 26 May, 2008. The nation, at present, is enjoying sufficient opportunities of getting tertiary education in our country. Private universities are making opportunities available for many of our students to get higher education and thus playing a vital role in averting the brain drain of our nation. It is encouraging that universities are very much concerned in providing quality graduates. Daffodil International University has put special emphasis on advancement of information technology. I hope DIU class of 2008 would be able to contribute to bring change in our technology education and its application.

I congratulate all the graduates, their parents, the faculty and university authorities on such a memorable and auspicious occasion.

I am pleased to participate in the 2nd Convocation of Daffodil International University (DIU). I feel happy being amidst all the graduates of 2008 of DIU while they set out to explore and win. I like to tie my good wishes with all in this flight.

DIU has been able to set a landmark in higher education within a short period and has emerged as one of the nation’s preeminent IT based universities. The graduates, being nurtured by quality teachers in a well structured academic and administrative set up from one end to the other, by dint of their own endeavors and parental supports, should be able to meet the needs of the country, in the perspective of both business and IT. The fruition of values, the discipline and social consciousness which I believe were taught throughout these years to the graduates is now to bloom and spread the fragrance all over, in this country and beyond. They will keep their endeavors on to reach their goals and enhance the reputation of the university.

Since its establishment in 2002, Daffodil International University has striven to develop and maintain international quality in instruction and played a vital role in the education sector of our country. Earlier guardians used to depend largely on foreign universities for good education of their children but now with the establishment of private universities alongside the public ones, more opportunities have been created for higher education within this country. We hope that as a pioneer in higher education, DIU will keep the country’s flag flying high in the academic world. The students of DIU will be the ambassadors of this university and with their successful career, they will make a positive contribution to the overall development of the country. DIU does not believe in merely offering certificates but in training young learners to be fit for the global job market. It is our high expectation that the students of this university will provide their best efforts to make it a renowned university; and after completing higher education, they will prove their efficiency in the practical field of life.

At the turn of the new millennium, universities in Bangladesh are facing a dilemma. On the one hand, there is a demand for developing mass training institutes to serve national needs. On the other hand, there is global pressure due to rapidly developing technologies to operate at the international level. DIU is continuously strengthening and developing the approaches and techniques of teaching with up-to-date materials to overcome the dilemma.     

It is our motto to provide meaningful education to the students and to assist them to be qualified for national and international placements. DIU strongly believes that education is not simply the acquisition of certificates, but the surest way to developing a sound state of mind and moral conduct. With this end in view, I believe, the graduates of DIU will be able to make their alma mater a center of academic excellence.

I am immensely pleased to see that Daffodil International University is holding its second convocation on the 26th May, 2008.

Convocation is a solemn, sacred and purposeful academic function of a university. It is a soul of a university; without it, the university loses its moorings. Its tradition should, therefore, be held in high esteem in all quarters, high and low, and preserved with utmost care and concern.

Having started academic activities slightly over six years ago, the university has been able to establish itself as an excellent academic institution of higher learning. The university has received, since commencement, the necessary help, assistance, advice and cooperation from Government, University Grants Commission, Bangladesh, Board of Governors, DIU, the faculty, the DIU Administration, parents, guardians and the affectionate students. I sincerely appreciate their contributions, acknowledge with gratitude and thank them all from the core of my heart.

In the end, I congratulate the graduating students on this great occasion and wish them all success in future.

May Allah, the Almighty, help us in our mission.

It is a matter of great satisfaction that Daffodil International University is going to hold the Second Convocation on 26 May 2008. Two years back, on 24 May 2006, the university held its First Convocation with great enthusiasm. On the eve of the auspicious occasion, I congratulate the new graduates as well as the guardians and all those who are working with us to train up the future mentors of the nation.

In the last two years the university has expanded considerably with continuous progress in academic affairs and infrastructural development. New programs have been introduced with the opening of new departments and recruitment of new teachers, both full-time and part-time. The number of students has also increased to a great extent. These are all positive signs for a highest-order academic institution.

The university is committed to offering quality education and we believe we are discharging our responsibility appropriately. We take utmost care in the appointment of teachers and maintaining strict discipline on the campus. We emphasize extracurricular activities alongside regular curricular activities, so that the students can nurture their creative faculty and broaden their knowledge base, enhancing multifunctional skills.

Several batches of students have already come out of the university and entered the job market where the DIU graduates have demonstrated spectacular performance. We feel happy with the success of our students and hope that we can produce even better graduates in the days to come.

On the occasion of the Second Convocation Ceremony of Daffodil International University, I congratulate the students who graduated from the university.  It is a memorable occasion for our new graduates, who have graduated from this great institution of higher education and learning.  I congratulate their parents on the great success of their wards.

The graduates of this university have an excellent of employment record. This has been possible by the hard work of the learners, congenial academic environment, and able leadership of the university authority. In fact, the university offers high-quality education at an affordable cost.

Daffodil International University is a fast-growing university, and the authority takes a keen interest for its infrastructural developments with the expansion of academic programs.  Particular attention is paid for the modernization and upgrading of laboratories, libraries and Internet connectivity.  Research activities are encouraged by financial and other incentives.  Students can enrich themselves through co-curricular and extra-curricular activities conducted through a number of student clubs and professional training courses.

Graduates form the backbone of the modern society, and I believe that the graduates of Daffodil International University will play a vital role for the development, prosperity and peace of human society.  I wish our graduates every success in the years to come.
